Hi everyone, I hope you’re all doing well. 💖

I wanted to take a moment to share something that recently happened and ask for your support. My boyfriend Carlos’s motorcycle license plate broke and fell off in the middle of the street without us noticing. This is a serious concern because someone could misuse it if they find it, so we need to replace it as soon as possible.

The cost of handling this process through a facilitator is $2,500 MXN (around $122 USD). If we can manage to raise this amount, we’ll have the new plate by this Wednesday.

Carlos works as a dance and art teacher for people with Down syndrome, autism, and other intellectual disabilities (at https://www.ayelem.org). It’s truly beautiful and impactful work, but it’s also extremely underpaid—sometimes it feels almost like voluntary work because he pours so much heart and time into it for very little in return. Combined with our other expenses, this situation has become an extra challenge for us.

For me, I’m working 8 hours a day unpaid at an audiovisual production company as part of my university internship while finishing my studies on Communications, paying for mental health therapy, and trying to launch a creative project in photography and video with friends. We’re both giving it our all every day, but this is one of those times when we could really use a bit of help.
