I need you all to know that when I was planning this script, my posting calendar, and my maternity leave, I LITERALLY HAD NO IDEA…. NONE… THAT CHRISTOPHER NOLAN WAS MAKING AN ODYSSEY FILM, AND THAT IT WOULD RELEASE AT THE SAME TIME AS THIS VIDEO… LMAOOOOOO - LIKE, ARE YOU SERIOUS - and Hadestown ProShot this week TOO!?!?!? I suppose the Homer epics never go out of style!!

This was intended to be a sequel to my Trojan War roleplay that I wrote after reading Madeline Miller’s THE SONG OF ACHILLES - and subsequently listened to TROJAN WAR: THE PODCAST by Jeff Wright… so I then read CIRCE by Madeline Miller, and listened to ODYSSEY: THE PODCAST by Jeff Wright, and here we are!!! So this Circe is fully based on Madeline Miller’s version of her - with details filled in from Jeff Wright’s podcast :) I haven’t seen Nolan’s movie yet (having a newborn and all lol) but I’m sure I will soon!

Many lines in this video are direct quotes from Madeline Miller's book! (Basically if I say anything that sounds super eloquent and cool... it's her writing LOL)

All that said, I couldn’t recommend Madeline Miller’s books or Jeff Wright’s podcasts more!! Check them out!

I actually really wanted to do two versions of this video (You’re a Man) and (You’re a Woman) lmao - so if you’d like the woman version, I have a script half written about you, the viewer, as a nymph sent to Circe’s island as punishment by your parents!! But alas, I only had time to film one!! But it was soo fun to set up and gather everything…!! Definitely a challenge :’)

I’m going to post a little cover or two of the lyre song with actual lyrics and not me humming - I’ll link them here when I do!

Oh gosh, anything else?? Probably, but I should get this video scheduled to post… baby Zag AND Mel are both snoozing away, I gotta take advantage of the downtime, ha!
