hey,
hope you guys have been well! this week, I took my little sister trick or treating and we both dressed as vampires, she got lots of sweets, there weren't many kids out weirdly enough. After that, I rushed back home and me and my sister went to see 'the substance' in cinema (warning spoilers ahead if you haven't seen it), it was the last viewing that we could go together so it had to be on halloween. I was still dressed in my halloween attire and a girl jumped when I walked past, and said something like 'I'm already scared and the movie hasn't even started', hahahaha. I absolutely loved it, probably one of my new favourite films, I loved the message, the symbolism of the yellow in the egg yolk, the coat which Sue slowly stops wearing, detaching from Elizabeth. A lot of people in my cinema found the end really funny, but I found it really sad. Even when she stuck the earring into her deformed appearance, I thought it was really sad that still, in this weird new form, superficial beauty was just SO important that the only important thing to do was go right to the New Year's Eve Show. When she was shouting 'I'm still me!' on the stage, it struck me a lot, really tragic. I totally related to the scene of Elizabeth fixing herself in the mirror, it's infuriating. I read some really negative reviews about the film and almost wasn't bothered to see it, but wow was I wrong. This movie was something I needed to watch for sure.
I didn't do much after halloween, but I went to the cotswolds with my family and had lunch, went to a super expensive farm shop, we stared at the prices and then left hahaha, took some photos of pretty houses. It was quite crowded though, and I couldn't believe there was a toilet that required 50p to go inside, it was absolutely FILTHY. It makes me so embarrassed, seriously. I heard this bloke behind me shout, 'SERIOUSLY? Piss tax?', which made me laugh!
