Curled up. Trying to be quiet.
Like if you don’t move, the bad dreams won’t find you.
This place has been shut down for years—an old arcade frozen in time. Flickering lights, dusty machines, and a ball pit that really shouldn’t still be here… but somehow is.
You tell me you broke in because you haven’t been sleeping.
The nightmares keep following you.
And for some reason, you thought you’d feel safer here.
I don’t think that was a good idea.
But I don’t leave either.
You look hurt—scratched up, exhausted, and clearly scared. Before we do anything else, I help you out of the ball pit and quietly check your injuries. I’m trying to stay calm, but I’m obviously worried about your safety.
To cheer you up, I pull out a few old arcade toys and prizes I found nearby—soft plastic sounds, gentle tapping, silly little distractions to make you feel a bit better. I talk to you softly, reassuring you, keeping my voice low so nothing hears us.
Once you’re safe, clean, and settled, I help you relax and fall asleep while the arcade hums around us. The machines glow faintly. The ball pit sits still behind us.
You’re okay now.
I’ve got you.
