Join Me at a Medicare 4 All Rally!
Happy birthday Medicare! 🎂 I attended a rally in New York which has held in front of Bellevue Hospital and led by organizers from @pnhp_nymetro @medicareforall_campaign @nationalnurses @maketheroadny and more.
It was touching to hear people from different perspectives talk about how this issue has affected their lives. It’s glaringly obvious to me that our predatory healthcare industry affects you no matter your age, where you’re from, or your identity. All of us deserve access to healthcare so we can live with dignity and thrive in our communities.
No AI algorithms or rich greedy CEOs looking to line their pockets should be a part of that process when there is plenty to go around and we’ve seen funding that was already allocated to fund Medicare get cut and used to fund genocide. It’s time to pass the New York health act and for NJ to follow suit and pass their own plan for a single payer m4a system! Even if the federal administration has turned its back to the people it was elected to represent, we can still mobilize our representatives at the city and state level.
