Happy Fourth of July, everybody! I wanted to share my memories of the Bicentennial back in 1976 - I was only five years old, but I have really clear memories of it, growing up in the Detroit area, because it was just such a huge deal at the time.
In this video I talk through what I remember from those celebrations, and then touch on what’s happening today for America’s 250th, including why there’s been some controversy around it - between the original bipartisan America250 commission and the newer Freedom 250 effort led by the White House.
