How are you all? We've had some beautiful spring days here in Vienna, with a crisp night sky that's perfect to look up at the stars. So let's dive into astronomy again!
Today I'd like to look at an incredibly gorgeous book with you all: the Harmonia Macrocosmica by Andreas Cellarius, created in the 17th century. It features historical maps of the sky, with copper plate engravings to illustrate both ancient and (at the time) modern theories of how the solar system might be laid out. Is it geocentric? Heliocentric? Or a mix of the two??
Triggers include a soft spoken voice with accent, pointing and tracing, page turning, camera panning.
