Jean-Marie has named his barbershop after the name given to barbers in France in the 18th century. After working all day using talcum powder, people called the barbers 'merlan' [whiting fish] as they ressembled fish prepared for frying (i.e. covered with flour). He now has a tattoo of a whiting on his arm and it is the logo of his barbershop (as well as LEGO earings you can see in the intro!). Of course, with a name like that, I was very curious to visit his barbershop for a shave!
