Recipe for homemade Chai Tea Latte:
Ingredients:
-3 cups water
-2 cinnamon sticks
-10 cloves
-2 star anises
-1 tsp ground ginger or fresh ginger
-1.5 tsp ground nutmeg
-6 black tea bags or 2.5 Tbsp loose black tea leaves
-1 tsp pure vanilla extract
-6 Tbsp date syrup (+/- depending on your taste)
-3 cups almond milk or any milk of choice(for entire batch of chai tea concentrate)
To make the chai tea concentrate:
- Boil 3 cups of water.
- Meanwhile waiting, add all spices into a spice bag. If you don’t have one just add the spices to the water and you can strain it later with a sieve.
- Simmer spice bag in water for 5 minutes. Take the pan off the heat, leaving the spice bag in.
- Steep 6 bags of black tea in the same water for 5 minutes.
- Take the spice bag and tea bags out of the water.
- Add the vanilla extract and date syrup.
Keep this in the fridge and it’s ready whenever you want a drink.
To make the chai tea latte:
- Combine 1:1 ratio of chai tea concentrate and almond milk. In this video I did 1/2 cup concentrate+ 1/2 cup almond milk.
For a iced chai tea latte add ice. For a warm one heat it up.
