ASMR: Project A119, Secret Cold War History | Ear-to-ear Whispering
During the late 1950s, the United States Air Force conceived a ridiculous top-secret plan known as Project A119. The project's goal was to detonate a nuclear bomb on the surface of the Moon as a show of military and technological strength against the Soviet Union. It actually blows my mind (pun intended) that this was seriously considered.
The plan involved notable scientists such as Carl Sagan and remained classified for decades.
