My body aches with the pangs of restraint
I will break water’s flow, sunk with stones
Find my bones, Ophelia

Bright, dazzling white
Starry eyed, I’ve gone blind from your light
Point the knife, leave my mind dark as night

Ask to be or not to be
To die, to sleep, perchance to dream
I’ve dreamt awake what I do seek
And seen you’re never meant for me

Behold the weight of prophecy
Of flowers felled into the creek
Rejoice my deed and do not weep
Of you I’m freed, Ophelia

Fate’s hand betrays
Though I pray, try I may, everything will decay
What remains certain’s change

The natural laws of time and space
Lead every path to end in waste
(—To muddy death!)

Visions I had long foreseen
Of locks of hair plunged dark, down, deep
I misconstrued mistakenly
The subject of this tragedy

Allow the pull of gravity
To lull you soft into the stream
A lullaby to you I’d sing
Perchance you’d dream, Ophelia
