From the ASMR Wikipedia: Autonomous sensory meridian response, ASMR, is a euphoric experience characterized by a static-like or tingling sensation (tingles) on the skin that typically begins on the scalp and moves down the back of the neck and upper spine, precipitating relaxation. The subjective experience, sensation, and perceptual phenomenon now widely identified by the term 'autonomous sensory meridian response' is described by some of those susceptible to it as 'akin to a mild electrical current…or the carbonated bubbles in a glass of champagne'. For these reasons, ASMR is an effective sleep aid.
ASMR is induced through certain sounds and visual stimuli (called ASMR triggers). These ASMR triggers can be: whispering, soft spoken voice, crinkles, tapping, personal attention, role play, scratching, sounds made in a gentle or quiet manner, tasks done slowly or deliberately, typing, page turning, etc.
