I am non-denominational. I believe in the Trinity which is God, Jesus, and Holy Spirit as one. I am not a Catholic- I grew up Catholic though, so I do appreciate the beauty of this special place.
From their website: Info about the Holy Stairs: According to tradition, when Jesus Christ was condemned to death, He had to climb 28 steps to the Throne of Pontius Pilate. Those stone steps were later found in Jerusalem and were brought to Rome. People began to climb these "Holy Stairs" on their knees, praying and meditating on the Passion of Jesus.
