It's always hurtful to be betrayed. Even more so when it's your own relatives working against you. The Israelites knew this better than anyone. Here we read about God's judgement on the Edomites for their wrong doing against the Israelites, which possibly gives us a glimpse of the future. But we also read about God's restoration for Israel.
