Statue of Zeus at Olympia (Wonders of the Ancient World 4/7 - Sleep History ASMR)

This is part 4 (of 7) of "Wonders of the Ancient World". Part 4 (the Temple of Artemis in Ephesus) will be released next week!
The Statue of Zeus was a huge "chryselephantine" sculpture, that is to say a statue fully covered in gold and ivory, with details made of other precious materials (ebony, gems, glass paste...). Its fame passed the frontiers of Greece, and it became the most remarkable monument at Olympia, the sanctuary where Olympic Games were celebrated every four years. In this story, we explore why and how this work was created, what happened to it, and I tell you about different aspects of Ancient Greek culture.
