This video explores the Glozel artifacts, a collection of over 3,000 objects discovered in a field in France in 1924. The finds include clay tablets with an unknown script, pottery, and tools. For nearly a century, their authenticity has been the subject of intense debate among archaeologists, with initial claims of a prehistoric civilization being challenged by accusations of fraud and forgery. Not only is the ongoing conjecture interesting, it gets quite dramatic at times! I was fascinated in how dramatic the history of the archeology of these artifacts is. Who knew that historians could have this much drama?
