Weightless - poetry video

So this is an older piece for me, written 2-3 years ago and left untouched-so there's some imperfect bits but it'd feel untrue to alter by now. It was one of the first poems I wrote where I felt really found my "voice." I had lots of fun piecing it together like this, so I hope you enjoy :)

Weightless

God, I am so lonely
I wish to dissolve into the warmth inside me
Like salt in water
Paradise calls-

Decidedly, I’m gonna be
The easygoing product of my body
Free, ever-lovely,
And weightless so that
The breeze has me swaying

Then the thought of going back will be
Sickening to me
I’ll think that was just some
Terrible disease

That it was in my mind like a tumor
That it had me on a rope like a circus mammal
That it was all that stood between
Me and infinity
(My heart hung over an open valley
Rung out to dry, painted the sky uncanny
It’s blue is a lie; there’s truth in the night
I finally feel as though I’m walking on steady ground
As the sun goes down)

I’ll really earn my mention
I can see the other side, plus they say it all the time
Be mine, be mine, please don’t mind my mind
I have nothing to offer but a youthful face and body,
A penny for your thoughts,
And years of worry.

God, I am so lonely
(I’m not finding much in the hole that I dug
But a soft spot of padded ground, a heap and a mound
I’m gonna lie down, found a ghost town
Show up wasted to a shoot-down
One man gunnin’ and another on guard
One by the door and another behind the bar)

I wish to dissolve into the warmth inside me
(Like sugar in the palm, rum on the rocks
Hold me like a crowbar has an inch on God
A sledgehammer to the feet of the alps, found peace in the foothills while tumbling down
Goin’ on and crazy with my past-date, crumbling when I pick it up, stale
Fleed from the scene, died in it’s sleep steam-train of thought state of mind
I’m cool, if your cool, let’s run it to the ground)

Like salt in water
Paradise dissolved before my eyes

I regret nothing but my innocence.
