Dr. Muñoz maintains an unnaturally cold environment using a complex refrigeration system. As the narrator learns more about the doctor’s mysterious ailment and genius, he discovers the horrifying truth: Dr. Muñoz is dead, kept in a state of preservation by his own macabre inventions. When the cooling system fails, the doctor’s decaying body rapidly deteriorates, revealing the terrifying extent of his experiments.
