This client's roots and previously treated lengths had very different levels of damage, so a single process was not enough. The roots and the older lengths were carefully treated separately according to their condition.
The older lengths were especially dry and fragile. When excessive heat is applied directly to dry, damaged hair, the ends can become stiff, rough, over-processed, and even suffer additional damage.
That is why I focused on creating a moisture cushion during the pressing process.
Many people believe that moisture makes damaged hair weaker during flat ironing. In reality, the science says otherwise.
Think about ironing clothes.
To smooth fabric properly, you need:

✔️ Moisture
✔️ Pressure
All three work together.
Completely dry fabric does not straighten easily. That is why steam irons exist. Moisture softens the fibers, allowing heat and pressure to work more effectively.
