This is mainly for those who have already learned or are learning te form in Japanese. I will try my best to explain conjugating te form, but really this is meant to be supplimentary or a review to what you're already learning. Here's a quick lesson on how to conjugate verbs in te form:
る-verbs are the easy to conjugate. You just take off the る ending and add "て." For example, みる (to see/watch) changes to みて.
う-verbs are complicated as there are five different conjugations, plus an irregular. Here's how they're conjugated:
In verbs ending with う、つ、or る (different from る-verbs), the last character (う、つ、or る) is changed to 「って」.
In verbs ending in む、ぶ、or ぬ、 the last character (む、ぶ、or ぬ) is changed to 「んで」.
In verbs ending with く, the くchanges to 「いて」. This is where the irregular conjugation comes in. いく (to go) changed to 「いって」.
In verbs ending with ぐ, the ぐ changes into 「いで」.
In verbs ending with す are changed to 「して」.
There are also two irregular verbs that are neither る- nor う-verbs: する and くる. This is how they're conjugated:
する → して
くる → きて
So, now that I've explained that, this is the song I sang:
