In 1966 John Lennon said something in an interview that ended up getting Beatles records burned across the American South. I sat down with some of my old books to talk through how one quote about religion and rock music turned into a full blown scandal, why it hit so much harder in the US than in the UK, and what it says about music and fame at that moment in history. This is also the first time I’m showing my face on this channel, so that’s a bit of a milestone too.
